2.  REGISTER FOR THE SHIFTS THAT YOU WANT TO WORK:

VOLUNTEERS AT BUFFETT DINNER PHOTOThe Volunteer Shift Registration Form is very important. It indicates the specific dates, times and venues that you are available to volunteer. We would like to encourage you to enroll in four or more shifts during the Fair, which qualifies you to receive parking and gate admission privileges for the remainder of the Fair!

Early Bird Registration is May 5, 2009. However, volunteers may register any time from May 5 through the Fair in September. The earlier that you register, the more likely it is that you will receive your first choices.

Use the form below to register. Like the Volunteer Application, you may open it on-line, complete it, and then either email, fax or mail it back in.

AN IMPORTANT NOTE CONCERNING SHIFT REGISTRATION:
As can be expected, some venues and some shifts are more requested than others are. Consequently, volunteers requesting to work at only the most popular locations and shifts may NOT be given all of their requests. While turning in your Shift Registration in early will give you priority – it does not automatically guarantee your assignments. Although every attempt will be made to give volunteers their first choices, this is not always possible. Therefore, volunteers are encouraged to provide multiple preferences when registering for shifts.

VOLUNTEERS AROUND THE TABLE PHOTO3.  RETURN THE FORM AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE!

This does two things. First, it helps us to ensure that all of our critical positions are covered during the Fair. Second, it increases your likelihood of receiving the volunteer positions that you most enjoy. Positions will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. (Please note that requesting a specific location, date, and time does not automatically guarantee your assignment. Although every attempt will be made to give volunteers their first choices, this is not always possible.)

4.  ATTEND VOLUNTEER TRAINING AND ORIENTATION:

All volunteers will be required to attend a mandatory orientation and training session that will be held just prior to the Fair. Attendance at this meeting is critical in order to receive the information necessary to perform your volunteer duties. Your parking pass, t-shirt and gate admission ticket(s) will be available for pick up at the orientation meeting. (First year volunteers will receive a ticket for their first shift at orientation. They will receive their other tickets at the end of their first shift.)

5.  DON'T MISS ANY OF THE FUN - SIGN UP NOW!

OSF Volunteers participate in activities at various times during the year. Once we have received your application, we will add you to our mail list and you will begin to receive more information about the program as well as invitations to up-coming meetings and events.
